Skytower Auckland

Entertainment,restaurants and exciting adventure acitivities!

The Skytower Auckland is probably the most recognised city icon apart from the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Built over ten years ago, it was originally much maligned, and got the nickname “The Spark Plug” due to the design, and the decision to leave the exterior unpainted.

That it was visible from almost anywhere in Auckland and can be visible from 80 kilometers away, took a bit of getting used to. It somehow was very intrusive on our landscape of volcanic cones, harbours and trees.

However the Skytower is Auckland.

As with many ugly ducklings, it has become our much loved swan. We love the colours at night that change with the event.

Blue when the Auckland Blues have a big rugby match. Pink for Breast Cancer weeks, Green and red not only at Christmas but for Kidz First Children’s Hospital, Orange for the Auckland festival and so it goes. Each week brings a surprise.

Have you dine a Sky Jump or Sky Walk?experience? We would love to read about it! Please CLICK HEREand tell us about YOUR Sky Jump or Walk and how you rated it.

At 328 metres the Auckland Sky tower is the tallest tower in the Southern Hemisphere and visitors have 360 degree views up to 80 kilometres away. It is a one stop entertainment shop. You can visit the Skytower and enjoy:

Sky Tower Auckland Restaurants

NOTE: The Orbit – You must spend a minimum of $30 per meal but do not pay to go up the tower so save $25!

The Orbit - a revolving a la carte restaurant – We have taken many overseas visitors to this fantastic Auckland Skytower restaurant for a meal and it has been one of the highlights of their trip . Try and book to arrive a little before sunset. You can then enjoy a superb meal while the slowly doing a 360 degree turn, watching the sunset and then the city lights. You are free to wander around the viewing platform after your meal. This is a great night out!

The Observatory. is a seafood buffet also in Auckland Skytower. Lunch is $39.50,Dinner $59 – but again you save the $25 fee to get up the tower. So this is great value.

Fortuna Buffet Restaurant. is a Chinese buffet meal. You also only pay $15 for the lift.

Ming Court . – An a la carte Chinese restaurant

Deli & Noodle Bar . – for cheap meals

Cafes . – Blend, Rebo and Sky Lounge which is at the top for coffee with a magnificent view.

AUCKLAND SKYTOWER CASINO – There are several package deals including meals at Fortuna or Ming restaurants along with time in the Casino
