Accommodation New Zealand - the options are numerous. It will depend on which kind of holiday you are planning, and where you will be travelling, which type of Accommodation New Zealand option will suit best. You will probably use a mix, if you are travelling around.

• Luxury Lodges – New Zealand has some top class internationally acclaimed lodges, usually in quiet, beautiful locations.

• Hotels in the larger cities and tourist cities such as Queenstown and Rotorua ,come in all price ranges with a wide selection to choose from.

• Motels in New Zealand are completely self contained with kitchens, bathrooms and often separate bedrooms. These are a great choice for a family.

• Bed and Breakfast – There are some lovely choices here. These can be in a home, or a separate cottage. They will usually be located on a farm, near a beach, or in the cities.

• Backpackers are particularly popular with the young set, but they are by no means limited to just the young. Towns such as Paihia and Mount Maunganui in Tauranga have quite a selection .They are cheap , and a great way of meeting other like minded travellers. Some have dormitories, plus rooms, and also rooms with ensuite. So it needn’t be too basic.

• Hostels are similar to backpackers.

• Campervan

– Hiring a campervan is a cost effective means of travel in that your accommodation and transport is all covered. ( See Camping)

• Camping – tents are very easy to erect, compact and easy to carry . hey are therefore a good choice for those who do not need the luxury touches.

• Camping Grounds - New Zealand has plenty of camping grounds ranging from 4 star holiday parks to DOC camps which have basic facilities That is – cold showers and toilets. The bonus is they are usually in beautiful beachside locations. You need to book in with the ranger who is usually on site.
