This popular walk offers birdlife, a good view of the mountains and shelter. It is a gradual climb through silver beech forest to a lookout point with a gradual descent back to the village. .

Bowen Bush Walk (10 minutes return)

This easy walk begins across the road from Alpine Guides. The loop track takes you through totara and celery pine forest with an alternative exit or entry towards Glencoe Lodge.

Glencoe Walk (30 minutes return)

Starting behind the Hermitage..... you walk through totara trees to a lookout near the water tanks above the Hermitage. Walkers get lovely views of the village and out to the Hooker Glacier and Aoraki/Mount Cook. Try and go at either sunrise or sunset for really beautiful scenery.

Sealy Tarns Track (3 - 4 hours return)

With spectacular views of the Hooker Valley and the surrounding mountain peaks including Aoraki/Mount Cook....there are masses of alpine flowers in summer, and lovely views to reward your efforts.

Ball Shelter Hut Route (3 - 4 hours one way)
