Colville Cafe - Coromandel Peninsula

Colville Cafe - Coromandel Peninsula

Colville Cafe - Coromandel Peninsula

The AA information for Coromandel Peninsula suggested stopping at Colville Cafe for a coffee before either attempting the 309 road over to Coromandel township, or the coastal road up to Port Jackson. I was somewhat surprised....Colville has little more than a store and a cafe and is in a remote location. I couldn’t imagine their coffee would be up to our exacting standards...being black coffee drinkers. How wrong I was.....it was a great recommendation.

In fact it was the best coffee we tried on the Coromandel on this trip! The rosemary scone was fresh out of the oven and may have had orange in it. I can recommend them! We just had to stop on the way back for a second try.....and again both coffee and scone were just perfect. I highly recommend a stop at this rustic cafe. They had a full menu that looked very enticing if you are wanting a meal. There was even a fire in the grate....although it was warm enough to sit outside at the wonderful tables made from slabs of timber
