Pub Meals and Food HallsPub MealsMany of the pubs and bars have cheap tasty meals. Usually simple homestyle cooking you will find they have something for all the family. Food Halls There are many food halls where you can wander around and choose from a wide range of ethnic foods, chains such as McDonald’s or Wendy’s, which is great when a group all like different foods. Most shopping Malls have a Food Hall, and many are stand alone in built up areas. Sometimes they are styled on a specific style of food. Eg in Northcote in Auckland there is an Asian Food Hall where you can enjoy Indian, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Malaysian, Korean and Thai meals. Restaurants - Ethnic Eating• Indian - This is usually a very reasonably priced meal. Many Indian meals are still only $10 – 11 a dish.• Thai – around $15 • Chinese – many choices. The decor will be basic but the cooking can be excellent. • Korean – a mix but usually very reasonable price. • Japanese – Look for Teppanyaki for a great cheap healthy full meal!
