I provide suggested New Zealand Travel Itineraries as a guide to how you might plan your holidays in New Zealand.I see so many people asking questions on what is the best itinerary for a given number of days in forums.So I hope to give you something to work with. Adapt, delete, reorganise sections until you feel you have a workable New Zealand travel itinerary.Be sure to allow time for sightseeing and travel. New Zealand is bigger than it looks and our roads are windy,steep and mostly one lane each direction.
You will probably be deciding how long to spend in each island....or even whether to choose one or the other.If you have time, I definitely suggest travelling around both islands if you have the time....they are so different scenically.Each very beautiful in their own way.
I have often been asked which I personally like best, the North Island or the South Island..... which is quite a difficult question.I prefer to live in the northern North Island for the warmer weather....but love to visit the South Island.
I generally advise allowing a little longer when planning your South Island Holiday itinerary , but having at least a few days in the North.Flying in to Auckland and out from CHristchurch or the reverse works well for many travellers.
