New Zealand Visa Requirements

Ensure you have the correct tourist visa !

Your New Zealand visa requirements,if any,will depend on which country your passport is issued by,for entry to the country as a tourist or visitor.

Visa Waiver Agreement - Anyone visiting from a country with a visa waiver agreement with New Zealand can come into New Zealand visa free.

You can also check this search box to see what the requirements are for your country of residence, for visiting any other country.There is such a variety of visa options depending on where you are going, how long you plan to stay, and other factors that it is well worth checking here, to see what you will require for your personal travel situation.

If you are an American or Canadian resident you can get a visa or passport online. For all other nationalities, you are advised what you require, and how to go about getting it.

THOSE ELIGIBLE TO COME INTO NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand citizens or those holding a New Zealand Residence Permit, Australian citizens or anyone holding a current Australian permanent Residence visa, are able to enter New Zealand visa free.

Return Visa – Those with a temporary residential return visa from Australia must get a visa to enter New Zealand.

Any British citizen or British passport holder with the right to live in the UK is eligible for a 6 month Visitor’s Permit, or three month visa free travel.

Citizens from all 25 EU states, been granted the waiver, completing the reciprocity of visa arrangements already in place for New Zealanders travelling to all members of the EU.

• Portuguese passports holders must have the right to live permanently in Portugal.

• Includes US nationals from American Samoa and Swains Island.

• Residents of Hong Kong travelling on Hong Kong Special Administrative

Region or British National (Overseas) passports. People travelling on a United Nations (UN) laissez-passer

ALL OTHERS WILL REQUIRE :

A visitor’s visa which is a multiple entry visa valid for 9 months maximum with in an 18 month time frame.

A Visitor's Visa is:

• An endorsement in your passport allowing you to travel to New Zealand for the purpose of visiting; or

• An endorsement in your passport issued by immigration, if you are already in New Zealand and wish to travel out of New Zealand and return to New Zealand for the purpose of visiting.

The Visitor's Visa shows you have permission to travel to New Zealand and you may be granted a Visitor's Permit on arrival. The visa may be for a single (one trip) or multiple (more than one trip) entry.

All visitors must have:

1) A passport valid for 3 months PRIOR to your departure date

2) Be a genuine tourist and can show evidence of your intention to leave (i.e. hold a departure ticket) within the required time.

3) You must have proof that you have enough money to support yourself while you are in the country.

NEW ZEALAND TRANSIT VISA REQUIREMENTS

You do not need a visitor visa if you are stopping at a New Zealand airport en route to another country and are staying less than 24 hours without leaving the transit area.

You will not need a transit visa if you are from a visa free country or your legal destination is Australia.

Citizens of Nepal will need a transit visa unless they hold a New Zealand visa or are going to Australia.
