Many couples seek New Zealand Weddings outdoor venues being particularly popular. While any time is suitable.... February-March is recognised as the "wedding season" You will need to book earlier and may well have to pay a little more at this time of year.
Beach Weddings
If you are keen for your New Zealand wedding outdoor venue to be one of the many beautiful beaches....there are too many possible locations to list here. If you know where in the country you would like to have your marriage ceremony you can then choose a suitable beach.A few suggestions to start with....but there are many more.

Bethalls Beach Cottages
A rustic New Zealand outdoor wedding venue set on the cliffs overlooking this wild west coast beach will give the wedding guests stunning views overlooking this internationally reknowned beach – "The Piano" was filmed here and this area is the scenery for many movies. It was in this area the series "Xena – Warrior Princess' was filmed.
Coromandel and Bay of Plenty beaches with their long stretches of white sand lend themselves to beach weddings.
Abel Tasman at the top of the South island has a special beach wedding venue. This beautiful National park with golden sand beaches would be a lovely destination. Another choice in Abel Tasman is Adele Island or Motuarero-nui .

Offers a very private bay for the full wedding ceremony and celebration as well as accommodation.
Vineyard Weddings
There are any number of vineyards that specialize in weddings. Auckland, Nelson, Marlborough, or Otago are good places to start with choosing a vineyard New Zealand wedding.
AUCKLAND VINEYARD WEDDINGS
Waiheke Island is popular because it has both vineyards and beaches. I read recently 10% of New Zealand weddings are held on Waiheke Island! Matakana north of Auckland also has several options. Brick Bay is a lovely venue for an outdoor wedding in the vineyards overlooking the small lake and sculpture park with your reception in what feels like a glass gazebo. Ascension Vineyard is another popular vineyard venue in Matakana.

An Island, Beaches and Vineyards all in one destination! Waiheke Island where 10% of New Zealand weddings take place has many vineyards with excellent restaurants as well as a number of gorgeous beaches….you can combine the two in your wedding plans if you wanted. You are spoilt for choice.

Garden Weddings
Garden weddings are always lovely. Choose the best flowering season for a stunning New Zealand outdoor venue. Spring in the cooler climates will have azaleas, rhododendrons, flowering blossom trees, spring bulbs. While spring or summer is best for tropical gardens which flourish in Northland and Auckland in particular. Below area couple of suggestions. There are a lot of gardens that specialise in weddings.... especially in West Auckland.
Landsendt – West Auckland
If you always dreamed of a tropical wedding Landsendt is as near as you can get in New Zealand. Set in this well known New Zealand tropical style garden amongst palms, and tropical flowering plants you can wed in the Samoan Fale and have your reception in gorgous white tents. The bride can make her grand entrance under a bamboo archway.
Winter Gardens – Auckland Domain
This is a lovely New Zealand outdoor wedding venue in the area between two traditional hothouses and a goldfish pond, below the Auckland Museum. If the weather is wet you can transfer the ceremony inside the glasshouses.You book the venue with Auckland City Council. The restaurant across the road would be lovely and very handy for the reception.....or book a venue outside the Domain…....or in the museum. Great for outdoor photos in either the band rotunda or in many spots under the trees …..the Domain is one of Auckland’s main parks......you will have other people around as it is a popular family park.

Very close to the city the rose gardens would be a lovely setting for your wedding.
