New Zealand Weddings

Plan the Wedding of Your Dreams!

Truly memorable New Zealand weddings can be held in any number of exotic locations around the country.

You can choose a more traditional wedding in a historic church or house in a scenic location, have a relaxed outdoor wedding....beach and vineyard weddings are particularly popular, or something more intrepid .....how does tying the knot on top of a mountain, on a glacier or in a hot air balloon appeal?

Choosing a wedding destination that reflects you as a couple and what you enjoy, will ensure you have something to look back on and treasure for ever.

Your wedding photos capture the moment for posterity and choosing a location with stunning views or special features will add to your memories that you will share with family and friends over the years ahead.

Having chosen your destination you need to book at a time of year when the weather will be at its best. Just as a beach wedding in winter is not going to be a good choice, neither is summer the most suitable for a mountain top wedding if you are wanting snow as part of the scenery!

About Dream Wedding Packages

I have made a wide range of suggestions here. Many are packages you can book. If you are coming from overseas this is definitely the recommended way to organize your wedding.

The package will include all the necessary requirements from helping with the paperwork, to organising transport, flowers, hairdressers and the myriad other things you need to think about.

NEW ZEALAND WEDDING PACKAGE SHOULD INCLUDE:

  • Arrangement of your New Zealand Marriage License including application fee.
  • Pre-wedding consultation to organise your New Zealand Marriage License.
  • Hire of your wedding ceremony venue.
  • Arrangement of and fee for the New Zealand Civil Marriage Celebrant who officiate at your wedding ceremony.
  • Arranging for two witnesses(a NZ requirement) - you may have your own witnesses.
  • Arrangement of a Standard New Zealand Marriage Certificate which includes application fee and courier fee to your home address.
  • A wedding coordination fee.

MANY OPTIONAL EXTRAS

  • Organising flowers - bouquets and buttonholes
  • Hairdresser
  • Make Up Artist
  • Photographer
  • Wedding Cake
  • Wedding Transfers and /or car hire
  • Accommodation
  • Men's Suit Hire

You can copy and paste the titles to find which wedding package you wish to pursue. I do not wish to promote any one company or venue so have not put links in. I have provided enough information for you to find a wonderful romantic New Zealand Wedding destination.

New Zealand Wedding Themes

Choose your preferred wedding theme from these options and then further research the locations that appeal.
  • Church – you will want to choose somewhere nearby for photos and reception
  • Beach – this is usually an outdoor ceremony on or overlooking a beach and a reception in a nearby restaurant with any number of lovely choices
  • Parks – Some of the larger parks have many beautiful spots for a ceremony or photos and some, such as Cornwall Park in Auckland or the Botanic Gardens in Wellington and Christchurch, also have restaurants where you could have your reception.
  • Vineyards – these are a great way to have a really special wedding. Many vineyards are set up to cater for weddings… there will be lovely gardens, vines, and a reception area with romantic décor and a wedding breakfast menu.
  • Lodges – For a very private venue in a beautiful location usually rural or clifftop…. a lodge may be the place for you. Helicopter in for a grand entrance!
  • Yacht or Boat – Whether sailing or on a cruise boat you can tie the knot on water if you so wish!
  • On top of a mountain! There are several places that specialize in high mountaintop or glacier weddings. These are usually for a ceremony exclusively for the couple and no guests, as a helicopter or small plane gets you to your destination!
  • Hot Air Balloon for a romantic wedding for two?
