passport problem.

I have recently got a new passport. However it's only valid for a year due to my last one going in the wash, and the one previous to that was stolen..... so now it's policy not to issue a full passport for at least six months. I want a working holiday visa for New Zealand, however my passport will expire at least 3 months after my leaving date. Would it be possible for me to get a working visa until those six months are up then renew my British passport over there and extend my visa?? Thank you for your help.

This form appears to allow you to have a visa transferred into a new passport.
